1000 Listens!     posted 18/06/2018
Having launched this parish website as a new venture on 1st May 2016, we have been greatly encouraged by its varied use
by people from both near and far.

One of the most encouraging aspects of the site, and which provides the most positive feedback, is the facility to listen to
our weekly services.  As of 18th June 2018 over 1000 listens have been recorded against our services.

Please remain faithful to us as we continue to provide this service to all who cannot attend church in person.
We are very appreciative of your continued support.

You may listen to our most recent services via the 'Services' & 'Service Recording' links on our menu at the head of the page.

Once again our Sunday School pupils supported the annual CMSI project as part of their course work during 2018.
This years project, The Crossing Bridges Children’s Resource, highlighted the work of our partners in the
Diocese of Egypt and explored the story of Joseph.

A colouring competition was held as part of the project and with entries from over 100 children and young people
from parishes across Ireland, we are delighted to announce that Victoria Martin won her age class known as the
'Crocodiles'.

As a parish we convey our congratulations to Victoria and her Sunday School teachers for their continued support of CMSI.

On Palm Sunday, 25th March, His Grace, The Most Reverend Dr Richard L Clarke, Archbishop of Armagh, hosted our service of Holy Communion.  During the service, Mr Allen Kinnin, presented a gift of Pew Bibles for use in our parish church, in memory of his loving wife, Betty.  The Archbishop read a tribute to Betty, provided by Rev Alan Synnott, who was unable to be present due to illness.  The Archbishop duly dedicated the Bibles to the Glory of God and for use in Christ Church.

Data Protection     posted 06/03/2018
New EU regulations in relation to General Data Protection (GDPR) are coming into effect from 25th May 2018, and will affect all parishes and churches.  The main change to each individual will be that in order to receive correspondence or communications from our church you will have to grant us permission to contact you, a type of 'opt-in' system.  Over the next few weeks all aprishioners will receive correspondence from us detailing the new regulations including a Consent Form, which will allow us to keep everyone updated.  It is our hope that all parishioners will complete and return the said form, though if we do not receive it back, we will not be permitted to make contact in the future.  Please be aware this is important to us as a parish and we trust you will give this your utmost attention.  We thank you in advance of your co-operation and understanding.

Rev John R L Bowley     posted 07/01/2018
As we welcome in the new year, we also extend a very warm and cordial welcome to Rev John Bowley to our Parochial Group.
Rev Bowley is no stranger to Bessbrook, having helped out with weekly services during our recent vacancy.

Rev Bowley is the past rector of Ballywalter Parish in Co. Down and will be a tremendous support for the Rev Synnott and Jill Hunter
in the provision of ministry within our Parish Grouping.

With the addition of Rev Bowley to the clergy rota, our usual rotation of services will resume to their traditional pattern.
We look forward to welcoming Rev Bowley to our church later this month and trust you will all benefit from his ministry.
